A sixth form college in the United Kingdom is seeking a full-time Personal Tutor to join their Student Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students in their academic and personal development while maintaining records and attending relevant meetings. King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college and a member of the Heart of Mercia Trust. As A level specialists we offer a deep academic curriculum alongside a broad development programme with almost 100 different clubs, groups and activities each week. Our students come from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds and we pride ourselves on fostering an active and friendly community.
We require a full‑time Personal Tutor to join our Student Support team. The role is part of the college’s pastoral system and supports students to reach their full potential, preparing them for the next stage of their lives.
The position is permanent, full‑time, term‑time only with up to 10 extra contractual days. Salary is paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale 11‑15, £24,210.65 – £27,224.93 per annum (37 hours per week). The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
Applicants must have a suitable educational qualification and a commitment to safeguarding and child protection. A successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and may be subject to an online search in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
