PERSONAL INJURY LAWYER (FTC) 1-3 PQE, CARDIFF, C. £40,000, HYBRID, 9-MONTH FIXED-TERM CONTRACT.

An excellent opportunity for a lawyer seeking a temporary position managing a personal injury caseload.

Responsibilities
  • Full conduct of a claimant litigated multi-track personal injury caseload, from pre-action stage through to settlement or trial, maintaining compliance with the CPR and relevant Protocols while working with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Obtaining and analysing initial instructions, advising on liability, causation and quantum, developing case strategy, diarising critical deadlines, and proactively managing procedural, evidential, limitation and costs exposure.
  • Preparing, reviewing and finalising key litigation documentation, including statements of case, schedules of loss, witness evidence, applications, directions, and detailed instructions to counsel and expert witnesses.
  • Instructing and liaising with medical and non-medical experts, overseeing disclosure, compiling trial-ready (including electronic) bundles, and attending CMCs, PTRs and interlocutory hearings, with scope for routine advocacy where appropriate.
  • Leading settlement efforts through Part 36 offers, ADR and negotiations, securing interim payments and coordinating rehabilitation in accordance with recognised industry guidance.
  • Hybrid working model: three days office-based and two days working remotely.
