Hourly Rate: £12.60 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: 10.5 hours per week

About Me: Hey I’m Mel, I’m nearly 50! I’ve had MS for 25 years! I’m friendly and chatty. I love clothes, I have far too many! I take great pride in my appearance, probably too much. My take on life is ... As are our cats.

I’m looking for a reliable, compassionate and organised Personal Assistant (PA) to help support me with daily care needs. I need someone to assist me in maintaining my independence. The role will involve providing personal care, domestic support, some meal preparation, and possibly helping me access the community. You’ll be working alongside my family to ensure I’m well cared for in my own home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Washing & Dressing
  • Domestic Support: Laundry, cleaning, and general tidying
  • Shopping: Helping with shopping needs
  • Community Access: Occasionally assisting with accessing the community (depending on my needs)
  • Meal prep: May be required occasionally
  • General Care Support: As required, based on the day
Hours and Flexibility

The role is for 9‑10.5 hours per week, and the preferred schedule is:

  • Monday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Thursday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

I’m very flexible with times if needed, so if these hours don’t work for you, I’m open to discussing alternatives.

What I’m Looking For
  • Experience: Previous care experience is preferred but not essential. I’m open to training the right person.
  • DBS Check: A DBS check is required due to my daughter living at home.
  • COVID Vaccinations: I am immunocompromised, so I ask that you are up to date with your COVID vaccinations.
  • Gender Preference: I would prefer a female PA for personal care tasks.
  • Driving: A driving licence would be helpful, as I may need assistance with transportation. I can arrange to have you named on my Motability car insurance if needed.
  • Smoking: I’m okay with smokers, but smoking must be outside only.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • Beautician skills would be a bonus but are not necessary.
  • Experience with moving and handling is appreciated (hoists are not required right now).
  • Experience with personal care, such as dressing and washing, is preferred.
About You

I’m looking for someone who is kind, patient, and reliable, with a genuine desire to help improve my quality of life. I love to take pride in my appearance and sometimes need help with that! If you enjoy TV and films, musical, yoga, or love cats, we’re likely to get along well!

Additional Information
  • Pets in the household: We have cats.
