Job Title

Personal Assistant

Purpose of the Job

We are seeking a reliable personal assistant to provide daily support for a highly intelligent, friendly 41-year-old married mother following a brain injury. This is secondary to a recent autoimmune inflammatory illness. The illness is stable with current medication regime but requires regular follow‑ups. No personal or childcare is required. Guidance has been provided by a neuropsychologist using a cognitive rehabilitation approach and there will be opportunity for guidance and reviewing of the strategies suggested. Work is primarily in and around the individual’s home and surrounding community in the CW6 area near Bunbury.

Hours and Rate

15 hours/week (this could be negotiable). Pay £15.31/hour.

Main Duties
  • Provide practical support following neuropsychological recommendations to support her attention and executive functioning abilities in day‑to‑day life (e.g., help with organisation of activities, activity planning, practical problem solving to help her successfully engage in activities she values such as health/fitness classes, being outdoors in nature, horse riding, dog walking, family).
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Always ensure the individual's safety.
  • Help with light housekeeping tasks related to the individual's living space.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual's dignity and independence.
Specification
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence (as transportation is required for the role).
  • Ability to pass a background check and an enhanced DBS disclosure (funded through employer).
  • Comfortable around a friendly dog and ideally horses.
