Job summary

A supportive family environment in Launceston seeks two Personal Assistants to help a 13-year-old boy with Autism develop his confidence and life skills. Responsibilities include providing 2:1 support in various activities, such as swimming and outdoor excursions. The position offers up to 6 flexible hours per week at £12.60 per hour. Personal Assistant (PA) – 2 positions

2 personal assistants required to support a happy and lively 13‑year‑old boy living in Launceston.

He has Autism and a learning disability and would like someone who he can build a positive relationship with and provide him with some 2:1 support.

He would like someone to support him with his communication, building his confidence and life skills. He loves swimming and water‑based activities, being outdoors and going for walks. He loves animals.

A personal assistant will enable him to enjoy activities in his local community and with his family.

Availability & Pay

Up to 6 hours per week are available, and this is flexible. Some weekend and school holiday availability will be required.

The rate of pay is £12.60 per hour.

Qualifications & Requirements

Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people is essential. A full driving licence is desirable.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
