We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Performance Director, SME Business Banking. The Performance Director will report directly into the Regional Director, fostering a strong risk‑aware culture across the Relationship Manager population. The role holder will analyse local financial performance and market trends to inform growth strategies, driving a customer‑obsessed mindset and embedding a high‑performance culture throughout the region.
What you will do
- Manage regional profile to facilitate execution of customer deals, referrals and management of SME Business Banking regional performance.
- Foster a strong performance‑driven and growth mindset across the regional team.
- Support Local Directors and Relationship Managers to identify opportunities to further support small businesses across London within their portfolios.
- Coordinate regional reviews to ensure strong talent and succession management coupled with performance outcomes linked to training and personal development.
- Lead the regional internal and external engagement plans through the coordination of events, relationships with external bodies central to London and identifying marketing opportunities.
- Support and analyse local market trends and financial data to make informed decisions.
- Take a proactive approach to performance improvement and growth.
- Prepare and present local meeting packs as required, including MI tracking for local campaigns.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements
- Proven coaching and performance‑management skills.
- Experience in driving team and individual performance to achieve customer and financial targets.
- Extensive knowledge of the UK market, understanding the interplay between geopolitics and commercial outcomes, and connectivity with a range of stakeholders (customers, regulators, employees).
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, with a particular emphasis upon inspiring, influencing and negotiating in dealing with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure environment, meet role demands and make prompt and practical business decisions, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes.
- Ability to understand a customers' business and priorities and interact with business customers at all levels.
