We believe that our people are our greatest asset, and we’re committed to attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent. Having the best people in our business is what will ensure we continue to go from strength to strength and provide our customers with best-in-class service.

Our HR People Services team is one part of a growing HR Shared Services team, based in Crick, where the experience our colleagues receive is our number one priority. We touch their work life in many different ways and between us, we look after over 5000 colleagues across over 120 sites. This is permanent role, based in Crick - Northampton, as a People Services Specialist.

So, what would you be doing on a day to day basis?

The team play a pivotal role in supporting the wider business with excellent customer service to all our stakeholders, responsible for the full employee life cycle from recruitment to compensation, be that ensuring we have all the information needed for a new starter, issuing offer letters and contracts, processing pay increases or changes in working patterns to liaising with our Payroll and Compensation and Benefits teams. We deal with colleague and management queries, finding solutions, improvements, upskilling colleagues where needed, and making sure we provide the best service possible. It’s busy and requires lots of attention to detail, organisation, collaboration, coordination, prioritisation and attention to detail. As we are always looking for ways to improve what we do, an eye for detail and spotting opportunities is key.

All of the above is achieved through using our case management system and our HR system (Success Factors) along with other web based software which help us keep track of everything we do. You will need to be comfortable using a wide range of IT applications and learning new ones as we develop and improve. Experience of using Success Factors would be helpful, however not essential, but we are looking for you to have strong skills with Excel and Word.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
  • Management of the HR inbox and queries into the team via the case management system
  • Delivering an outstanding service to all colleagues
  • Answering queries or solving problems via email and phone, supporting up to Exec level with their employee life cycle needs
  • Produce and send out offer packs and associated documents to all new colleagues
  • Issuing letters to colleagues following employment changes
  • Updating employee records on the HR System
  • Providing and requesting references both internally and with 3rd party providers
  • Manage and maintain all HR electronic files, ensuring legal compliance and data protection regulations are met
What you need to succeed at XPO:
  • A ‘can-do’ personality, who likes finding opportunities to improve how we do things
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the business
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word
  • Excellent administration skills and exceptional attention to detail
Why Join XPO?
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Work for the best in the industry
  • The opportunity to develop and progress, across various different areas of specialism

We strive to create an inclusive environment for all our colleagues, where everyone feels welcomed, empowered and where you can bring your true self to work. You may not feel you tick all the boxes we have written above, so even if your experience doesn’t precisely match the job description but you feel you have the skills needed, please feel free to reach out to our recruitment team for an initial discussion.
