This role is perfect for someone who enjoys balancing transactional HR responsibilities with digital and process‑driven improvements. You’ll be involved in everything from payroll and recruitment support to HRIS system administration, process optimisation, and training colleagues on People systems.

This is a home‑based role; however, you will be required to travel occasionally to attend meetings. Therefore, you must be able to travel within our operating region.

Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.

About Us

At Aster, we’re on a bold journey of transformation, putting our people at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to operational excellence, digital innovation, and delivering exceptional experiences for our colleagues and customers. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and want to make a tangible impact, you’ll feel right at home here.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate and compliant HR operations, including payroll support, recruitment, contractual changes, probation, offboarding, Right to Work checks, DBS renewals, and secondments.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employment‑related queries, empowering leaders and colleagues to navigate People processes and systems effectively.
  • Maintain and enhance HRIS and case management systems, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and GDPR compliance.
  • Support system upgrades, implementations, and user acceptance testing (UAT), including creating documentation, guides, and training materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying process efficiencies and enhancing the user experience.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, IT, Workforce Management, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated services.
  • Educate and support colleagues in People processes and systems, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
About You

Collaborative, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working independently.

Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills at all levels.

Highly organised, professional, and resilient, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Strong understanding of GDPR and HR data governance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Office365 and HR systems, particularly Dayforce (front and back end) – essential.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, PowerApps, and Power BI is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable success in HRIS solutions, system integrations, and user‑centric process improvements.

  • A focus on colleague wellbeing – workshops, an employee assistance programme offering counselling and support, mental health training and a health cash plan.
  • Investment in careers and development through our leader and colleague development frameworks.
  • Defined Contribution Pension and attached life assurance.
  • Volunteering hours available to all colleagues to enable them to give back.
  • Savings at cinemas, gyms, holidays, days out, various shops and eateries and lots more.
