Job summary

A specialist payroll recruitment agency is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll for over 2,000 employees. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in payroll processing, knowledge of UK payroll legislation, and excellent attention to detail. This position offers a hybrid working structure with three days in the office and two days at home, and a salary of up to £30,000 plus benefits.

Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for 2,000+ employees


• Manage starters, leavers, salary changes and adjustments


• Administer deductions, benefits and HMRC submissions


• Reconcile payroll and assist with month/year-end reporting


• Provide first-line payroll support to employees, ensuring excellent service

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong experience in payroll (high-volume, in-house desirable)


• Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance


• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills


• CIPP qualified (or working towards)


• Familiarity with Zellis/Resourcelink (advantageous, not essential)
