Overview

My client is a well-established Accountancy firm. Based in a friendly and supportive team in Cleckheaton or Chesterfield, you will be working on a portfolio of clients. Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join them on a permanent basis.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of weekly and monthly payroll.

Responsibilities
  • Role itself is in Chesterfield – in the office
  • Managing portfolio of clients – 1 to large several hundred on payroll
  • End to end payroll
  • Manage own workload
  • Handle new starters and leavers
  • Handle pension contributions
  • Process statutory payments
  • After approval is received from the client, carry out pay-run for the client
  • Arrange payslip distribution
  • Process leaving documentation including P45s
  • Complete monthly and year end procedures
Desirable skills and attributes
  • Previous payroll experience
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Strong initiative
  • Ability to work alone
  • Experience processing multiple payrolls
  • Comfortable and competent using payroll software
  • Must have good payroll knowledge for answering queries
  • Responsible for all aspects from start to finish
  • Bureau experience not essential but desirable – high volume/multiple payroll suffices
