About the Job

This role is central to the finance function, responsible for ensuring accurate payroll delivery and supporting month-end accounts processes. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will manage key financial tasks while maintaining high standards of compliance and efficiency.


Duties


  • Processing payroll accurately and in line with statutory deadlines

  • Preparing monthly management accounts up to trial balance, including variance analysis

  • Completing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts

  • Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting requirements

  • Managing purchase and sales ledger activities as required

  • Supporting the Finance Manager with financial reporting and process improvements

  • Liaising with staff, suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve queries


Your Skills & Experience


  • Accounting Technician qualification (ATI/AAT) plus at least 2 years’ experience, or 5 years’ finance experience in a similar role

  • Proven experience in payroll processing and accounts preparation

  • Strong knowledge of reconciliations and management accounts

  • Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent organisational ability with strong attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-focused approach
