Work Set Up: Hybrid (2- 3 days per week in Knutsford office)

Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Payments Solution Architect with experience managing responsibilities for designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions for complex core banking & current account business problems, ensuring that systems are scalable, resilient, and secure. The successful candidate will have domain expertise & experience in designing the solutions involving various payments/core/cards systems. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders across business and technology, owning the delivery of architecture for core banking programs, and guiding integration strategies-often balancing cloud adoption, automation, and compliance.

What you will do:

• Lead design and technical architecture for loans, savings/current accounts, current account switching & payments along with operational platforms with focus on scalability, resiliency, security, and regulatory compliance
• Collaboratewith project managers, product owners, and business analysts to align solutions with business requirements and risk controls for current accounts.
• Manage architectural governance: producedesign artefacts for privacy, records management, and risk.
• Advise business and product teams, supporting technical delivery and innovation in the banking landscape.
• Evaluateand integratevendor products, supporting systems strategy, and automateoperational processes to reduce manual intervention.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Cards and Payments domain knowledgeof cards issuance and authorization journeys.
• Broad knowledge of the current account & core banking landscape, payment schemes, and architecture paradigms (cloud, APls, DevOps, security.
• Experience with workforce planning tools, reporting platforms (Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Tableau, Confluence), and project delivery best practices.
• Strong stakeholder management, business acumen, influence strategy across multiple teams and business functions.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
• Eligibility for BPSS clearance.
