Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Patient Services Manager to join our friendly, highly regarded surgery in Inkberrow, Worcestershire. This role would suit a dynamic, proactive person with a proven track record of leading a team.

As a surgery we value collaborative working and support each other to provide high quality patient care. The ideal candidate will relish the challenge of working in the ever-changing world of General Practice and the NHS. We are looking for a confident, adaptable, caring individual with excellent communication skills. Our new Patient Services Manager will ensure the reception and administration teams function smoothly and effectively, helping to bring together the different services within the surgery to provide the best possible patient care. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills are essential. If you have experience of line managing a team and the drive, motivation and commitment to fulfil the needs of our patients, we want to hear from you. In exchange we offer an attractive employment package including NHS pension. The shift pattern for the role will be Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 4pm, total 37.5 hrs per week.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient management and training of the Reception and Administration teams. You will ensure that all duties are performed safely and effectively. You will oversee patient recall, including QOF, and all patient administration and communication needs.

You will be results driven having active oversight of the patient service provision. You will ensure adequate clinical cover is in place to meet demand and will manage appointment templates on the EMIS clinical system.

Job responsibilities

Job Summary:

Manage the practice reception and administration team, carrying out day to day activities

Manage the recall of patients on disease registers and for routine vaccinations and screening

Provide support and training for current and new reception and administration staff

Provide cover for medical secretary

Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

Manage private report and copy record requests
