Job description
Job Overview

We have an opportunity to recruit three band 5 patient pathway leads for our Foot & Ankle/Pni & Spinal departments. The post holders will work closely with the Deputy Service Manager and support the multidisciplinary team, ensuring patients receive high‑quality care throughout their journey at RNOH.

The Patient Pathway Lead will apply expert knowledge of patient pathway and administrative procedures to provide supervision and leadership in the delivery of a high quality, effective and efficient service for the multidisciplinary team and patients, with a focus on delivery of a positive experience and excellent customer service.

The role involves managing the whole patient pathway from referral to discharge, including first outpatient appointment, diagnostics, planning and treatment, and follow‑up appointments. The Lead works closely with clinicians and operational staff to provide an efficient and effective administrative service, acting as a source of expert advice and support for troubleshooting non‑routine matters or resolving initial complaints.

Monitoring waiting lists and capacity within the service, proactively addressing issues, and collaborating with senior managers and the clinical team ensures access and quality targets are met.
