Overview

We work with clients and their families and collaborate with NHS, solicitors, barristers, case managers, insurance companies, prosthetic and orthotic specialists, universities, and rehabilitation technology experts. This is an exciting opportunity to join the STEPS team to plan, organise and facilitate daytime, evening and weekend activities and events for STEPS residential clients. This role requires you to be a driver and able to drive two wheelchair accessible vehicles, and to be available to work alternate weekends and regular evenings.

Main duties

The Event & Activities Co-Ordinator will work with the Senior Events & Activities Co-Ordinator to arrange trips, activities and social events for our clients while they are with us.

Job Details

Salary: £24,570 to £26,500 per year pro rata. Permanent, part-time. Working pattern: Part-time. Location: STEPS Rehabilitation, Alexander House, 30 Troutbeck House, Sheffield, S7 2QA.

Job Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities: Plan, organise and implement a range of activities for clients with musculoskeletal, neurological, traumatic injuries and other complex conditions. This includes group activities, social events, community outings and evening events reflecting client interests. Drive clients to and from events in STEPS vehicles. Communicate with the wider team to coordinate events and ensure client safety. Arrange entertainment and events within an agreed budget. Identify additional support needs for activities and groups. Adapt approaches to meet individual client circumstances, including cultural, social and linguistic differences, and cognitive/physical disabilities. Maintain accurate documentation per STEPS standards (clinical notes and reports). Adhere to and support individual client risk assessments with the treating team. Apply manual handling principles as required. Escalate issues per STEPS guidance and procedures. Comply with clinical governance requirements. Maintain safety, cleanliness and tidiness of all areas. Collect regular feedback from clients and take appropriate action. Participate in relevant training and development. Flexible hours including weekends and evenings. Essential

  • UK manual driving licence with no more than 3 points
  • Must be aged 25 or over due to insurer requirements

  • Able to form key working relationships and understand interdisciplinary teamwork

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or above

  • Relevant degree in Health/Social care or psychology

  • First Aid Training

Experience

  • Experience of working with people with care and/or rehabilitation needs
