Hours: 37.5 per week - A mix of 8am-4pm & 1pm-9pm weekdays, as well as 9am-7pm on weekends - on a rolling rota

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Administrator to join our Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) reception team. As the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and visitors, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the department.
This is a busy and fast-paced environment, and the successful candidate will be approachable, patient-focused, and able to work well under pressure.

Be able to admit, transfer, discharge patients using the electronic patient record.
The post holder will provide high quality front line administrative support for SDEC. This involves working closely with nurses, medical staff, all Acute Medicine consultants, and management team. The post holder will work as part of the SDEC team ensuring an efficient high quality and timely service is provided. This includes providing a welcoming and professional service to patients, relatives, and all other agencies.
These duties do not require direct supervision on a day-to-day basis and the post holder is responsible for the management and prioritisation of their own workload. The staff will need to be flexible, have a range of knowledge of hospital work and external agencies. Staff are expected to work shift patterns, including weekends where they will work independently under pressure with constant interruptions to their daily workload and exposed to conflict and sensitive issues.
