Position Statement:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Patient Financial Services. Coordinates overall functions of patient billing, receivables, and patient account maintenance. Reviews patient account files and ensures their accuracy and completeness for appropriate billing distributions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates patient billing of assigned payers
  • Posts payments/adjustments according to explanation of benefits or as directed by supervisor.
  • Monitoring and processing of claims in assigned queues.
  • Receives and answers inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and other parties regarding charges and/or billing questions or discrepancies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Requires one to two years post-secondary education or the equivalent. Knowledge of specific insurance coverage, including BCBS, Medicare, and Medicaid preferred. At least one year of on the job and/or related experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Skills essential for satisfactory performance include accuracy, detail focus, tactfulness, positive communication, and people skills.
Pay Information:

$16.44 - $22.38 hourly
