Overview

The successful candidate will carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice. Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies. Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations. Liaise with customers to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, to customer's requirements, whilst limiting the disruption to their business. Sites include Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Universities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current IET Code of Practice.
• Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies.
• Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.
• Liaise with customers to ensure work is carried out efficiently, to customer requirements, whilst limiting disruption to their business.
• Sites include Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Universities.
• Use Microsoft Office and have access to emails; weekly download of results to the PAT team at Head Office.
• Job schedules arranged by the PAT Team at Head Office; the Engineer must manage their own time efficiently.
• Maintain acceptable timekeeping and ensure start & finish times are adhered to as directed by the PAT Manager.
• Identify, prevent, or pre-empt potential areas for customer dissatisfaction (e.g., arriving late due to traffic). Good route preparation and forward planning is vital.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Organisational skills; hard working, competent and reliable; excellent communication skills; ability to work in a team as well as independently; literate with IT (Microsoft Office).
• Have access to a Laptop/tablet/computer once a week to download report.
• Willing to work in different environments; comply with current uniform standards, ensuring the company uniform is always worn correctly.
• Must hold Full Manual UK Drivers Licence; must pass Full enhanced DBS check.

Additional information

• 40hrs Per week Monday - Friday; Some Weekend Work may be required and on occasion out of hours work.
• Some time will involve time spent away from home from Monday to Friday.
