Role overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Partner Solution Director for our Partner Integration to support our EMEA commercial team in successfully providing solution sales across the region. This key leadership role will be responsible for translating customer and partner needs into clear, actionable solution designs, ensuring alignment with Planet’s product and service offerings.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in payments, with a strong understanding of DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion) and MCP (Multi-Currency Pricing) being highly desirable. You will work closely with customers, partners, internal stakeholders, and a team of solution managers to ensure seamless solution design and initiation of projects.
What you will do:
Solution Leadership:
Act as the primary pre-sales lead to complex opportunities across the EMEA region.
Define, document, and communicate solution requirements that meet both commercial and technical needs.
Ensure the accurate translation of business needs into deliverable solutions, initiating projects through internal processes.
Team Leadership & Development:
Provide strategic leadership to a team of global solution managers.
Drive continuous improvements in pre-sales tools, documentation templates, and solution scoping processes.
Foster knowledge-sharing and best practices across the team.
Customer & Partner Engagement:
Engage directly with clients and partners to understand their technical and operational requirements.
Guide discussions on how Planet solutions will be implemented and integrated.
Represent the technical and solution perspective in customer meetings, RFP responses, and workshops.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Commercial teams to align pre-sales activities with the broader business strategy.
Ensure that solutions proposed during pre-sales can be effectively delivered post-sales.
Operational Excellence:
Lead the creation and ongoing refinement of pre-sales documentation, such as solution designs, requirement specifications, and scope definitions.
Promote scalable and repeatable pre-sales processes to support growth.
Who you are:
Proven experience in a pre-sales leadership or solutions architecture role within the payments industry.
Strong understanding of payment processing, DCC, and MCP is highly desirable.
Demonstrated success in customer-facing roles, translating business requirements into integrated technology solutions.
Solid understanding of solution integration methodologies, API standards, and customer onboarding processes.
Experience managing and developing high-performing, geographically distributed teams.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization across multiple time zones.
Willingness to work flexible hours and travel occasionally as needed within the EMEA region.
