Job description
Overview

At Swift Referrals, we're not just a veterinary hospital—we're a community of passionate professionals committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients. We are excited to invite applications from compassionate and motivated RVNs to join us as a dedicated Weekend Nurse.

Explore your full potential. We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Weekend Nurse to join our team on a part time basis. If you're an ambitious individual looking to expand your nursing skills in a supportive, close-knit environment, this role is for you.

As a dedicated Weekend Nurse at Swift Referrals, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding care to both emergency and inpatient cases, including first opinion and referral patients. Working closely with our emergency clinicians, you will help provide high-quality emergency treatment and manage patients in intensive care, as well as those hospitalised for referral care. You'll be part of a collaborative team of nurses, ACAs, and vets, all focused on our top priority: delivering the highest standard of nursing care. With a wide variety of emergency and referral cases, this role offers an excellent opportunity to fully utilise and develop your nursing skills. You'll be supported every step of the way by our experienced and friendly team as you settle into the role. As with any strong team, we value versatility and a team-player mindset—so you'll also be encouraged to assist across other disciplines and emergency situations when needed.

Be part of delivering clinical excellence

Opened in 2019 and purpose-built to industry leading standards, Swift Referrals is a multidisciplinary referral hospital offering the very best in veterinary excellence, all under one roof. We specialise in orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, housing world-class facilities on our premises from advanced imaging machines to specialist treatment and aftercare rooms. We have 1.5T Siemens MRI scanner, 128 Slice GE CT scanner, doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, arthroscopy and state-of-the-art operating theatres, and separate dog and cat wards. We also have a dedicated ECC and OOH centre which houses a large ICU for our critical patients. We are fully committed to the wellbeing of our team of over 80 employees, and we are thrilled to see how this is reflected in the consistent positive feedback in our team satisfaction surveys.

What you'll bring to our team

RVNs of all experience levels and nursing backgrounds are welcome to apply—we recruit based on attitude and aptitude, and full training and support is provided for our new team members. Most importantly, we are looking for nurses who align with our vision and values. We care with integrity and transparency, with the wellbeing of our patients at the heart of everything we do. Emergency or out of hours experience would be desirable due to the fast paced nature of the role, and any further qualifications (for example CertECC or similar) would be beneficial.

Working pattern

This part-time role consists of 30 hours per week, scheduled as three 10-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Because our employees matter

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive salary, you will benefit from:
