A market-leading manufacturing business in Gillingham seeks a Part-Time Finance Director to oversee financial operations and develop future leaders. The role offers competitive compensation between £80,000 and £95,000 on a full-time equivalent basis. The successful candidate will provide strategic insights, manage compliance, and mentor the finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance leader looking to taper down into retirement while remaining actively involved.
We are exclusively searching for a Part-Time Finance Director to oversee and manage financial operations within a market leading manufacturing business in the Medway area. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in accounting and finance to ensure effective financial management and compliance, and most importantly the ability to mentor and develop future leaders.
Our exclusive client is a fantastic business who have a long established reputation of excellence in manufacturing quality. With a turnover of just under £50m, our client is highly respected, and operate from an attractive, modern site in the Medway towns. The company is known for its innovation, quality, and strong market position within the sector.
The successful candidate for this Part Time Finance Director position will have a broad remit, supporting the board as well as mentoring the next generation of finance leadership for the company.
This role will initially start as a 4 day per week opportunity, tapering down as the team around you is developed and you can empower them

This role is being marketed on the basis of an additional 4 day per week, with this then reducing as you develop the team.
The role will be offered on an initial 12 month fixed term contract basis, which may be extended depending on the progress made.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance leader who is looking to mentor and develop the skills of a team, whilst also staying involved.
It may well suit somebody who is looking toward retirement, but they are not quite ready yet, and this will allow them to taper down whilst providing a critical role in the meantime.
