Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for a reliable Part-Time Caretaker for a temporary role in Banstead. You will maintain cleanliness and safety in a school environment, working 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Role: Part-Time Caretaker

Duration: 4-week temporary role (covering sick leave)
Salary: Pro-Rata (Part-Time): 11,456.90 - 12,248.60

Working Hours:

  • 17.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 12:30pm (flexible hours available)

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Part-Time Caretaker to work for our client on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Keeping the school clean and tidy, including classrooms, corridors, and communal areas.
  • Sweeping, mopping, dusting, and performing general cleaning tasks.
  • Reporting maintenance issues promptly to the facilities manager.
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance across the premises.
  • Assisting with basic grounds maintenance, such as litter picking and outdoor cleaning.
  • Supporting the setup and takedown of school events or activities as required.
Requirements
  • Experience in a school or with a DBS check is preferred; if not, one will need to be completed.
  • Previous experience in a caretaking, cleaning, or facilities role is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
  • Physically able to carry out cleaning and maintenance tasks.
