Job summary

A local coaching organization in Newtownards is seeking a candidate for an after-school football coaching role. The successful applicant will facilitate engaging sessions for children across primary schools, assisting with planning, setup, and leading activities. The position is temporary, offering up to 25 hours per week with a competitive hourly rate. Responsibilities

  • Deliver fun, safe and structured football sessions for primary-age children.
  • Assist with set-up and pack-down of equipment.
  • Support behaviour management and ensure safeguarding standards are upheld.
  • Encourage skill development, teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment among all participants.
  • Follow session plans and guidance provided by GM Coaching.
  • Maintain a professional presence across partner schools.

Skills

Strong interest in football and working with children
Good communication and confidence with young people
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to learn
Ability to work as part of a small team
Previous experience coaching or assisting with sports activities
First Aid certificate

Education

Basic coaching qualifications (IFA/UEFA Foundation or similar)
Access NI clearance
