Qualifications

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join the team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. HMP Wymott has a capacity of around 1,100 and a varied and complex population. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the mental health team onsite, being the first point of contact for the team.

Hours: Full‑time role, working 18.75 hours per week. Ideally, shifts Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 11:45, though alternatives can be discussed.
Salary: £25,821 – £28,574 FTE per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As our new Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide excellent admin support to the Mental Health team onsite, acting as the first point of contact
  • Manage referrals to secure hospitals
  • Liaise with prison departments to obtain required legal paperwork
  • Work on the healthcare system (SystmOne) – inputting and updating records and ensuring data accuracy and rectifying anomalies
  • Book clinics and appointments, both internal and external
  • Liaise with local hospitals for patient appointments and referrals
  • Produce escort sheets for the prison
  • Deal with SARS as needed
  • Interfere with healthcare colleagues and other professionals over phone, face‑to‑face and via email, delivering a high‑level service at all times
  • Attend meetings and take minutes as necessary
