Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity within Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our busy Long Term Ventilation (LTV) service as a band 6 parent educator. The role involves working with children and young people who are dependent on medical technology and have significant medical complexities.

The successful applicant will be required to provide education and training to families and carers to empower them to provide safe, competent and effective care at home. The post holder will support the LTV MDT in implementing education, training and the development of training packages for parents/carers and care providers for LTV within the “Better at Home” suite at MFT.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver education and training to parents, carers and care packages to support evidence-based care.
  • Educate parents, carers and care packages to a high standard of care while participating in audit and research.
  • Work with the LTV MDT to ensure the education package is fit for purpose and that individual competencies are reviewed to provide a safe, high quality and efficient service.
