A primary care clinic in Wallington is seeking a Paramedic Practitioner to join their team. You will provide high-quality patient care, participating in clinical meetings and optimizing health outcomes. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Paramedic Practitioner to join our growing multi-disciplinary primary care team. You will work within our clinical team to deliver high quality patient care.
This is a fixed term or locum position for 4 months with a view to extend depending on the ARRS funding. The position is offered on a full-time or part-time. Protected learning time, CPD, and support from a dedicated GP supervisor will be provided to help you grow and enhance your skills within the role.

Manor Practice provides primary care services to a patient population of 12,500 patients based across 2 sites within Wallington. The Practice is currently experiencing rapid growth and is undergoing a transition period having recently merged with another practice.
Manor Practice is a friendly, well organised and thriving Practice that benefits from a growing patient list size. The GP partners are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to their patients and are supported by an excellent team of salaried GPs, Practice Nurses, ANP, HCA, Clinical Pharmacists, receptionists and administrators. We also work closely with a number of other PCN ARRS roles such as FCP Physios, Health & Wellbeing Coaches, Social Prescribing Link Workers and Mental Health Practitioners.
The Practice is an active member of the Wallington Primary Care Network and is rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission. We are a forward thinking practice, who appreciates the need for work/life balance, clinical supervision and support and we also support flexible scheduling options. Our local Training Hub ensures our staff have access to excellent training and development opportunities and portfolio working arrangements.
We are fully engaged with our local Primary Care Networks, including provision of localised services and we host some of the Suttonborough extended access services at one of our sites.
The Paramedic Practitioner will work autonomously within their professional scope of practice providing care for patients face to face, by telephone consultation and via home visits.
The postholder will operate within their own sphere of competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice to provide expert professional clinical advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensuring clinical safety and excellence at all times.
They will prioritise and triage the needs of patients and make any necessary referrals for advice, treatment or investigations in the appropriate manner.
The postholder will use skills, knowledge and competencies as a fully qualified prescriber paramedic in order to be responsible and accountable for managing patient caseloads, referrals, admission to hospital if required and discharge from care as needed.
In accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties, including:
face to face consultations, telephone consultations and answering queries
visiting patients at home in relation to acute and chronic presentations
participating in triage and reviewing incoming pathology results and clinical letters
prescribe and review medication that is appropriate to the patient needs and in accordance with the latest evidence based practice, national and practice protocols and within the scope of qualified practice
dealing with paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
Providing counselling and health education and supporting health screening programmes
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Acting appropriately in relation to alerts, QOF, medicines management, local enhanced services and other reminders during a consultation
Undertaking special health care reviews such as SMI health checks, Learning Disability health checks and cancer care reviews.
Responding to medical problems presented including history taking, examination, organising referral and for investigation and treatment elsewhere as appropriate
Providing clear, confident explanations to patients about their clinical management plan and ensuring that the patient is aware and in agreement with this plan
Justifying the choice of medication recommended and understanding the impact of co-morbidities and other medications, poly-pharmacy on agent choice and prognosis
Adhering to the practice prescribing formulary, local and national guidelines
Ensuring that the use of EPS is maximised
The role may also require:
Urinalysis
Dressings
Routine and other adult and child immunisations and vaccinations
Contraception and fitting of IUDs
Routine and other adult and child immunisations and vaccinations
Removal of sutures/clips
Assisting with minor procedures
