Job description
Overview

The Paramedic Learning Facilitator supports sectors to deliver the best possible learning experiences for learners and mentors/practice educators within PES Operations. This role is suited to individuals with a strong background in supporting learners and a passion for improving learner experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Sector Manager as part of the sector management team, supporting, evaluating and improving learner and mentor/practice educator experience.
  • Analyse learner experiences and activities using data, provide assurance of quality and develop action plans to enable delivery of consistent, highly valued learner programmes.
  • Spend 70% of the time working operational shifts with identified learners on a double‑crewed ambulance (DCA). Work closely with rostering teams and the sector management team to plan shifts.
  • Protect the remaining 30% of time (non‑operational) to support individual and sector‑based learning activities, working in partnership with local sector and workforce development teams.
Qualifications and Experience

Suitable candidates will be qualified to degree level as a paramedic and have experience supporting learners as a practice educator/mentor. Candidates must have completed a relevant mentoring learner module. Ideally, candidates will hold or be working toward relevant teaching/learning qualifications at the point of application; these will be provided post‑appointment where appropriate.

Assessment Centre

Successful short‑list candidates will be invited to an assessment centre on Friday 16 January 2026. The centre may include completion of a situational judgement assessment, group and individual activities, and a professional discussion.
