Painter and Decorator

Location: HMP The Mount – Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead HP3 0NZ

Salary: £28,853.57-£32,460.26

Contract: Full time / Permanent – Monday–Sunday (Shift Allowance)

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP The Mount, a Category C & Adult/Male prison. Our team works Monday to Sunday as a supportive and driven family, creating a safe and nurturing environment.

As a Painter & Decorator you will work alongside experienced colleagues—plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners and administrators—to maintain and enhance the prison environment, ensuring safety and rehabilitation.

Requirements
  • A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent (or significant experience)
  • Experience working in a maintenance team
  • An honest and reliable character with a sense of purpose and pace
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills
