Qualifications

Pain/ CPSMT Medical Secretary

The closing date is 11 December 2025

We are looking for an enthusiastic Medical Secretary to provide secretarial and administrative support for out Pain Service Consultants in the busy and friendly Neurosciences department. You will possess excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is essential. Good accurate typing and a proven track record of secretarial experience will be necessary. The job is varied and will include typing clinic letters, answering telephone enquiries, requesting scans, booking meetings and taking minutes, etc. The post-holder must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate well with all levels of staff as well as patients and their carers. You will also be part of the administrative team within the department, as such; the post holder will be expected to work as part of this team, and to provide cover for other members of the team when necessary. We are looking for a true team player with the necessary skills to provide a high standard of secretarial support to this busy, high profile department. Main duties of the job

Provide day to day Medical Secretary support to the Pain Management Team.

The successful applicant will be a focal point for patients with queries and general medical secretary duties. Working both as a team player and independently you will need to be highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic with excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. You will need to meet deadlines and be able to work under pressure. You must have the ability to manage your time effectively in order to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will be expected to have a caring, professional and empathic approach, whilst also maintaining boundaries and confidentiality.
