A leading educational support organization in the UK is seeking tutors to provide one-on-one sessions in Maths and English for students with Special Educational Needs. Candidates should have experience working with young people and possess strong communication skills. This role offers flexible hours, excellent pay rates, and support from experienced staff. Training and ongoing opportunities for professional development are provided.
1st Staff are one of the UK's leading alternative providers working nationwide with specialist staff helping students aged 4–25 with educational and therapeutic needs. As a tutor you will deliver tuition sessions to help these students gain confidence and achieve the qualifications needed, potentially returning to further education. We provide a support network for tutors, including a lead tutor for your area, Designated Safeguarding Leads, curriculum leads for Maths and English, a behavioural specialist and a Head of Education.
To deliver Maths and English sessions on a 1:1 basis to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs referred by local authorities and schools. The ideal candidate will have a caring and friendly nature and be able to build rapport with the young person.
This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position; you will work on a zero-hours contract and be paid via PAYE. We do not offer expenses coverage.
