Moore Kingston Smith is seeking an experienced OT Cyber Security Consultant to join the Moore ClearComm team, leading system security risk assessments, control system evaluations, and developing bespoke assurance methodologies for complex, safety-critical environments.

Working alongside our OT security specialist, you'll bridge the gap between control and instrumentation engineering and cyber security disciplines, shaping practical, standards-aligned security improvements that protect critical infrastructure.

\3>Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct OT and industrial control system (ICS) security risk assessments across operational assets and supporting systems.
  • Develop and refine cyber security requirements to support OT systems design and security arrangements used to protect OT systems at supply chain and nuclear operations stages.
  • Carry out security assurance activities to confirm adequacy of security arrangements used by Supply Chain to develop OT systems or by Asset owners that operate OT systems.
  • Evaluate system architectures, network segmentation, and security controls for SCADA, DCS, and Control & Instrumentation systems.
  • Support clients in aligning with regulatory and industry requirements, particularly within the civil nuclear and critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Contribute to security cases, safety justifications, and security assurance documentation.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, safety, IT, and compliance specialists.
  • Support internal capability development, including the creation of OT security frameworks and training materials.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

  • Approximately 5 years' experience in OT/ICS cyber security or C&I system engineering, including security risk management.
  • Familiarity with control system architectures (PLC, DCS, SCADA) and industrial network protocols.
  • Experience performing or supporting cyber risk assessments, system security evaluations, or vulnerability analysis.
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards (IEC 62443, NCSC CAF, ISO 27001/27019, NIST 800-82).
  • Strong writing and communication skills able to translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations and specifications.
  • Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC) or already holding clearance.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the civil nuclear and/or energy generation sectors.
  • Knowledge of safety systems and safety case integration.
  • Awareness of threat intelligence, incident response, or OT monitoring tools.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. GICSP, IEC 62443, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent).
