Job summary

A recruitment agency in environmental services is seeking an experienced Ornithologist to conduct bird surveys and prepare ecological reports. Ornithologist
Location: Shrewsbury
Salary: £29,000 – £42,000 per annum, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out bird surveys across a variety of habitats, including breeding, wintering, and migratory species.
  • Prepare detailed reports and contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Habitat Management Plans.
  • Provide practical advice on bird mitigation and conservation in line with UK wildlife legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with other ecologists and support project delivery.
Requirements
  • Experience in ornithological fieldwork and survey techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of UK bird species, ecology, and relevant legislation.
  • Experience producing professional ecological reports.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
