Job description

Part Time, 15 Hours, 12 Months FTC

Hours: Part time, 15 hours, 2 days per week

Are you a registered dental nurse looking for an opportunity to work in oral health? No oral health experience needed as full training will be provided.

If your answer is 'yes' and you see yourself as a caring, flexible and approachable person where you will be appreciated by community groups and the team, then this is the place for you.

Main duties of the job

What are we looking for?

You will be a confident communicator and able to deliver "train the trainer" oral health sessions to schools and groups in the community across Reading and West Berkshire.

Your experience of participation in health campaigns and the production of high-quality resources will demonstrate your creativity and imagination. You will liaise closely with external partners to deliver coordinated care and seek further opportunities to improve the oral health of our population.

You will be a GDC registrant and have proficient IT skills. Accuracy and promptness are important. You will understand the oral health needs of our local population, engaging positively with those most vulnerable to oral health inequalities and disadvantage.

This is a Reading/West Berkshire wide role, so car drivers with a full UK driving licence are essential.

Main duties include delivering the national supervised toothbrushing programme, providing oral health promotion to vulnerable groups in the community along with formal and informal training for a variety of employees working in the community, including health professionals and peer educators.

Working patterns are flexible within the hours Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 6.00pm. Occasionally you will be required to work outside these hours.
