Qualifications

  • You must be fully competent in using Visual Fields equipment.

  • Experience in comprehensive history taking, visual acuity assessment, and slit-lamp examinations is essential.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the clinical team in delivering safe and efficient outpatient ophthalmology services
  • Prepare patients for eye examinations and assist during assessments
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic images using a range of ophthalmic equipment
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient assessments and test results
  • Provide a reassuring and professional presence to patients throughout their care

Job responsibilities

Essential Clinical Skills:

  • Comprehensive history taking (general and ophthalmic)
  • Visual acuity assessment (Snellen / LogMAR)
  • Slit-lamp examination of the anterior segment
  • Goldmann Applanation Tonometry (GAT)
  • Van Herick angle assessment
  • Pachymetry
  • Safe assessment and administration of dilating drops
Person Specification
Experience
  • You must be fully competent in using the following equipment:
  • Visual Fields (e.g., Humphrey or equivalent)
  • OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
