Job summary

A healthcare trust in northern England is seeking an Assistant Photographer to support the Medical Illustration Department. The role involves assisting in providing an Ophthalmic Imaging service, including obtaining OCT and colour fundus images. Candidates should have 5 GCSEs or equivalent, NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, and knowledge in medical photography. The position offers a salary between £24,937 to £26,598 per annum, pro rata. This is a part-time role totaling 22.5 hours.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Medical Photography and the uses of diagnostic imaging in Ophthalmology.
  • Proven ability to work to high standards under pressure.
  • Experience with OCT and Fundus imaging Knowledge of Anatomy.

Responsibilities

  • Work as an Assistant under the direct and indirect supervision of a Medical Photographer.
  • Obtain diagnostic Optical Coherence Tomography Scans of patients.
  • Obtain colour fundus photographs of posterior pole and optic disc using fundus photography.
  • Liaise and assist Medical Photographers in prioritising their workload.
