Job Title: Operations Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all operations equipment for life support and safety systems are maintained and available.
- Identify and report to the Control Room any plant/equipment malfunction. Implement adjustments under the direction of the Control Room with the goal of achieving safe and reliable production.
- Work as a key member of the team responsible for the safe operation of the plant.
- Implement shutdown, organize and clean equipment required for maintenance, ensuring all work permits are cleared before resuming production.
- Carry out frontline maintenance such as filter changes, pressure/temperature gauges replacement, etc.
- Recover plant from any emergency shutdown and organize loss of production, adhering to operating procedures.
- Carry out lab duties, procedures, and basic oil and gas analysis.
- Complete pre start-up/operating checks and post start-up/operating checks to ensure normal operating conditions.
- Conduct site visits and advise on risk assessment controls; act as counter signatory within permit systems as assigned.
- Ensure data is collected, collated, and reported accurately and in a timely manner to support production optimization and quality expectations.
- Take ownership of 28-day and 7-day planning and maintenance activities within the discipline.
- Coordinate with discipline technicians for effective plant preparation and re-instatement following maintenance.
- Maintain high standards of documentation, logs, and handovers.
- Monitor materials movements and manage materials tracker and manifest.
- Serve as ICP focal point, ensuring verification testing is organized and resources are available.
- Act as S/D & Projects focal point as tasked by STL.
- Review proposed modifications/work packs prior to implementation and provide feedback.
- Support and liaise with contractors and vendors, ensuring work conforms to regulations and standards.
- Complete competence management system for the role in a timely manner.
Safety Management:
- Understand and comply with safety case, statutory requirements, and safe systems of work.
- Ensure contractor and vendor compliance with safety standards and legislation.
Emergency Response:
- Perform emergency roles as defined by the company procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Recognized operations or production apprenticeship or training scheme.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hydrocarbon operations support activities, preferably with multi-skilling experience.
- OND / ONC / City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Production Operations.
- ISSOW (or similar system) training to level 2.
- SBT assembly and re-instatement to stage 3/4.
- Proficiency with management systems such as Maximo and spreadsheets.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
