Job description

We are supporting a leading, regional contractor in their search for an experienced Operations Manager. In this role, you would be leading an experienced team of Contracts Managers on a mixture of Civil Engineering & Groundworks projects.

The business is well-respected in their markets, have a strong financial position and are renowned for treating their staff well.

The Day Job:
  • You’ll be supporting the directorship team in executing the business plan. In essence, you’ll take ownership of project delivery. Dealing with procedural compliance, management reports and upholding standards.
  • Managing sub-contractor performance, ensuring quality and budget adherence.
  • Building on existing client relationships, focusing on a quality first approach to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • You’ll be supporting their pre-con team, launching tenders and undertaking resource planning to ensure live and upcoming projects are covered.
  • Becoming the recruitment lead for the operational side of the business, focusing on development from within and helping to build long term careers.
  • Building programmes from tender documents, advising on risk & buildability
  • Assisting the wider team to ensure a safe working environment for all. Ensuring compliance with internal and external safety standards.

  • You’ll need experience of managing multiple projects of significant value at any one time. We would consider an experienced Contracts Manager stepping up or an existing Operational Lead
  • Experienced in managing and developing client relationships
