Due to expansion an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager responsible for our Aberdeen sites who will:

Responsibilities
  • Maintain constant communication with managers, staff and vendors to ensure proper operations of the company.
  • Oversee compliance of all Group HSE procedures are maintained and implemented.
  • Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company performance.
  • Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget.
  • Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as required.
  • Lead, motivate and support a small team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment.
  • Work closely with HSE and Legal departments.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
  • Ideally, an experienced individual with knowledge of business productivity.
  • Experience in Waste Management and/or Metal Recycling would be an advantage.
  • Road Transport Logistics.
  • Plant Maintenance knowledge.
  • Excellent Salary and Incentive Package with this management role.

About the Team

About the Team John Lawrie Metals (company of ArcelorMittal Group) is the largest scrap metal recycler in the North-East of Scotland. We have scrap metal yards and metal recycling locations in Aberdeen, Shetland and Evanton, close to Inverness, handling around 200,00 tonnes of metals every year. We specialise in: Scrap Metal Reuse and Recycling, Industrial Metal Recycling, Marine Metal Recycling and Domestic Scrap Metal and have been successfully carrying out decommissioning projects involving the dismantling of large oilfield, subsea and industrial infrastructure for more than two decades.
