We are seeking a motivated Operations & EHSQ Specialist to support day‑to‑day operations within our steel service centre and help drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, takes initiative, and wants to make a real impact on operational excellence and sustainability.

About the program and position

The European Graduate Program is designed to attract and develop newly graduated talent to ensure SSAB’s future critical competencies. Over the course of 14 months, you will be engaged in a series of workshops and lectures that provide in-depth knowledge of SSAB’s operations, leadership practices, and a wide network of professional contacts.

The program includes visits to SSAB’s production sites in Finland and Sweden, as well as an individual trip to a business location of particular interest. Throughout the program, you are paired with a senior mentor who provides personalized guidance and support. The program concludes with a final presentation to SSAB’s management team, where you will present your learnings and experiences.

This is a hands‑on role suited to a recent graduate looking to build a career in operations, manufacturing, or industrial services. You will work closely with production, logistics, and site leadership, providing operational and administrative support while assisting with compliance and continuous improvement activities.

Main responsibilities
  • Support daily operations across production, processing, and logistics
  • Assist with coordination of schedules, work orders, and operational activities
  • Maintain operational records, reports, and system data
  • Support site inspections, audits, and compliance activities
  • Assist with contractor onboarding and inductions
  • Track actions, incidents, and improvement items
  • Support document control, procedures, and work instructions
  • Assist with reporting on operational and compliance performance
About You
  • Recently completed a degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, WHS, or related field (Graduated within the last 24 months or soon to graduate)
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Comfortable working in an industrial, site‑based environment
  • Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn
