Working at OnBuy:

We are a team of driven and motivated people who thrive when working at pace. To succeed at OnBuy you need to take charge and fully own your responsibilities, rolling your sleeves up when needed to 'get it done'. Working at OnBuy you are surrounded by so much opportunity, but you must possess the ability to stay focused and prioritise ruthlessly. Most importantly, you will thrive in an ever-changing environment as we are constantly evolving.

At OnBuy, you're not just a number or another cog in a machine. We are creating something really special, and you have the opportunity to affect meaningful change and have your voice heard. We are a close team, who have the opportunity to learn and grow as OnBuy evolves.

About the Role

As our Operations Data Analyst, you will help drive efficiency, reliability, and customer experience across OnBuy. You\'ll work closely with Sales, Seller and Product teams to turn data into actionable insight, monitor performance against key SLAs, identify bottlenecks and root causes, and influence day-to-day and strategic operational decisions at pace.

Key responsibilities
  • Partner with the Sales team to support the acquisition and onboarding of new sellers, identifying gaps in assortment and tracking early seller performance to inform commercial and operational decisions
  • Work closely with the Seller team to improve seller retention and engagement, using data to diagnose performance issues, highlight optimisation opportunities, and maximise seller value to OnBuy
  • Collaborate with the Customer Support team to understand customer pain points, identifying friction across key journeys that drive complaints, escalations, or poor service outcomes
  • Own and develop operational dashboards and self-serve reporting, ensuring teams have timely, trusted insight that is actively used to manage day-to-day performance
  • Conduct deep-dive and root-cause analysis into operational issues, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Proactively monitor operational performance and risks, surfacing issues early and helping teams prioritise where to act
  • Communicate insights clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing prioritisation, process change, and decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with the wider Analytics team and Data Engineers to share best practice, improve data foundations, and contribute to the broader analytics strategy
Requirements
  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related analytical field
  • 1-2 years\' experience in an analytics, reporting, or data analyst role, ideally supporting operational teams
  • Strong SQL capability, including complex joins, CTEs, and window functions, with the ability to extract insight from large, imperfect, multi-source datasets
  • Proven ability to partner closely with stakeholders, translating operational needs into clear, actionable analysis that supports strategic and day-to-day decision-making
  • Comfortable operating in a high-demand environment, managing competing priorities and taking ownership of business-critical operational reporting
  • Ability to document metrics, definitions, and data sources to support shared understanding and self-serve analytics
  • Experience using Looker Studio or a comparable BI tool to build, maintain, and improve dashboards and self-serve reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on data quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • An interest in building scalable, repeatable reporting rather than one-off analysis
Desirable
  • Basic working knowledge of Python or another scripting language for analysis or automation
  • Experience with dbt or similar transformation tools
  • Familiarity with Git or version control best practices

Knowledge of Google Analytics or other digital analytics platforms.
