A leading logistics firm is seeking an Operations Controller to manage drivers and vehicles while ensuring compliance with EU regulations. The ideal candidate should have managerial experience and a strong knowledge of the logistics sector. This role involves shift management, effective communication, and adherence to company policies. We are currently seeking an Operations Controller to join our Operations team at our Burton Latimer site on a full time permanent basis!
As an Operations Controller you will contribute to the success of the site by managing drivers and vehicles, ensuring that legal requirements are adhered to, vehicles are roadworthy and drivers working within EU driver regulations. You will also have some responsibility for effective site management in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant H&S regulations.
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 18:00 - 06:00.
Salary: £34,624.51 per annum.
Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
Controlling paperwork for outbound vacancies ensuring 100% accuracy.
Controlling the flow of international inbound to ensure scheduling adherence and to limit any potential demurrage claims.
Fulfilment of paperwork requirements for despatches.
Communicating issues to the Shift Manager in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
Liaising with the transport department to ensure a continual trailer flow.
Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and a current state of play.
