About us

Equity is an ambitious school tour operator based in Brighton. For over 90 years we've been working with schools, colleges and clubs, helping young people explore the world, build confidence and create lasting memories

We're a team of passionate travel professionals who care deeply about what we do. Whether it's sourcing the perfect destination or managing the logistics behind the scenes, we believe in the power of travel to inspire and educate.

As a business, we also believe in supporting our people, offering real opportunities to grow, contribute and be part of something meaningful.

About the Role

We're looking for a highly organised and hands-on Operations and Transport Manager to join our team and lead this vital area of the business. You'll work across two critical functions ensuring flights and ground transport are efficiently booked and managed, and that each trip is operationally supported by the right people.

This is a hands-on role that combines leadership, problem-solving, and operational planning. You'll play a key part in delivering a great experience for our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Transport Team to manage flight and ground transport bookings, forecasting, payments, and compliance.
  • Overseeing logistics and planning for our overseas trips.
  • Supporting overseas operations and acting as part of the Duty Office escalation team.
  • Managing supplier compliance, health and safety documentation, and customer service escalations.
  • Attending operational meetings and helping to drive improvements and efficiencies in our processes.
About you

We're looking for someone who is proactive and calm under pressure. You'll have strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex operations while keeping a close eye on the detail.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Clear and confident communicator.
  • Comfortable leading a team and working collaboratively across departments.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and react quickly to changing situations.
  • Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • A practical and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in transport or travel operations is desirable but not essential.
  • A clean driving licence with the ability to drive abroad.
Application Process

We're open to applications from all backgrounds. If we need to make any adjustments during the selection process just let us know.

We're also proud to be part of the Circle Back initiative where we commit to giving feedback at every step of our recruitment process.

Work Arrangements

This is a full time role (36.25 hours per week) and offers hybrid working (at least 3 days per week in the Brighton office).

You'll also be required to travel overseas during busy operational periods and work occasional weekends and evenings.

Benefits and culture

In addition to statutory bank holidays, we offer 21 days annual leave, additional day off for birthdays as well as learning and development days to further your knowledge, skills or experience.

We have an informal culture which prides itself on being warm, empathetic and always human, putting people first.
