Job summary

A leading aerospace company in Gloucester is seeking an Operational Purchasing Manager to lead their purchasing team and develop strategies for indirect spend. This role involves managing supplier relationships, overseeing project costs, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Candidates should have significant purchasing experience, excellent project management skills, and be MCIPS qualified. The position offers a 4.5-day work week, generous holiday, and various benefits including a pension scheme.

Qualifications

  • Significant Purchasing experience in a Manufacturing / Engineering environment.
  • Excellent project management skills, coupled with analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Confidence and personal credibility.
  • Demonstrable cross Functional Team working and negotiation skills.
  • MCIPS qualified

Responsibilities

  • Develop, motivate and performance manage the Operational Purchasing team.
  • Deliver improvements in cost and service levels from indirect suppliers.
  • Develop strategies for Indirect spend.
  • Manage strategic and Operational negotiations with suppliers.
  • Work closely with Global Purchasing Team and Finance Department.
