Job description

Overview

Whickham School wishes to appoint one‑to‑one tutors with expertise in physics to continue in the role out of our successful tutoring programme. We have a proven system that identifies the needs of pupils and we will support you to help pupils make rapid improvements. We will provide training and support before you work with our pupils and you will be guided by subject teachers throughout the course of tutoring.

Requirements

• QTS
• Minimum 2 hours per week tutoring
• Experience teaching A‑Level physics, preferably OCR
• Ability to teach both in school and via Teams
• Availability between 15:00 and 19:00

Desirable skills

• Qualified HE or FE teacher
• Track record of effective teaching
• Experience of tutoring
• Ability to use conferencing software

Salary & Contract

Salary: £33.23 per hour for those with QTS. Part‑time supply contract. Role is pensionable under the LGPS. Rates include holiday pay.

Flexible working

Role suited to those who wish for a degree of flexibility. Tutoring takes place in school and over MS Teams during evenings or weekends.
