Role Overview

They are seeking an experienced OMB/Mixed Tax Manager to join a dynamic and growing Corporate and Business Tax team. This is a client-facing advisory role offering exposure to a wide range of tax projects and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering bespoke tax advice to owner-managed and family-run businesses, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored tax advice across a variety of projects, working closely with partners and specialist teams.
  • Manage and review work prepared by junior colleagues, ensuring technical accuracy and clarity.
  • Lead client communications and contribute to advisory work throughout the business lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement tax strategies and preserve desired outcomes.
  • Prepare tax valuations, clearance letters, and HMRC submissions related to reorganisations and reliefs.
  • Advise on employee share schemes (e.g. EMI, growth shares) and prepare valuation reports.
  • Support clients with EIS/SEIS qualifying conditions and advance assurance submissions.
  • Review corporation tax returns and support general practice teams with technical queries.
  • Assist with compliance work, including income tax self-assessment, PAYE, and corporation tax procedures.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualified (ACA/ACCA and CTA/ATT).
  • Proven experience advising owner-managed businesses post-qualification.
  • Strong technical knowledge across multiple tax areas including corporation tax, income tax, CGT, IHT, VAT, and SDLT.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax matters.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • A collaborative team player with mentoring experience.
  • Organised, motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to client service and business development.
