We are actively looking to engage ocean & sea freight professionals with a passion for freight forwarding and aviation shipping for a new role as an Ocean Freight Forwarder working in Nottinghamshire!

You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. The business focuses on providing cost-effective and best in class services for worldwide ocean and sea freight. The company has large-scale private investment and employs over 4,000 colleagues worldwide, and is growing its freight forwarding offerings across the UK by adding opportunities within the Nottinghamshire office.

Job Description

As an Ocean Freight Forwarder, you will report to the Ocean Freight Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas across the Nottinghamshire office:

• Manage ocean freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentation.
• Documentation of Operations and transportation (booking, Bills of Lad ing, pre-advices, loading confirmation).
• Nominating carriers, hauliers and shipping lines, in-line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms.
• Raise additional customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country (ISF, COO, clearance documentation etc).
• Customer rate analysis on route guidance, whilst monitoring and secure allocations and operation efficiency.
• Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with knowledge of the clients business requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in ocean freight forwarding across both import and export. The ideal Ocean Freight Forwarder will have the following skills and experience:

• 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding in either sea or ocean freight forwarding.
• Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across ocean & sea freight.
• Desirable experience of customs compliance.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
• Commutable to Nottinghamshire.
