Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

Pay Rates: £20.80 - £25.71 per hour exc WTD

What you can add:
  • Provide specialist therapy within the area of hand therapy Out-patients, including across Trust working parties responsible for ensuring the effective development and use of all protocols and evolving pathways, where appropriate.
  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of patients in your own care as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with professional standards and trust guidelines.
  • Use advanced specialist skills to assess, diagnose and treat patients, including those with complex physical and psychological presentations (including terminal prognosis). Utilize investigative and analytical skills to formulate individualised management and treatment plans and specialised programmes carried out in individual or group setting.
  • Prioritise and triage referrals and screen for serious pathology with appropriate management.
  • Interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical information to form accurate diagnosis and prognosis in a wide range of highly complex conditions, recommend the best course of intervention, and produce comprehensive discharge information and plans or refer on to an appropriate agency.
  • Continually reassess patients to progress treatments effectively and advise patients appropriately, maximise patients' rehabilitation potential to return to normal activities of daily living or prepare for other eventualities.
  • Use advanced clinical reasoning skills which implement evidence based practice at all times and utilise a wide range of treatment skills (e.g. advanced manual techniques, patient education, wound care and splinting) to formulate specialised programmes of care.
  • Effectively communicate highly complex and often sensitive clinical information regarding the patient's medical condition to patients and/or carers, inform them in understandable terms of the benefits and risks of suggested treatment options to maximise compliance and improve outcome.
What you'll need:
  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
  • Current Health Professions Council registration
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Extensive postgraduate experience, with previous experience working in a specialist area
  • Experience of splinting (static) of the hand
  • Advanced level of knowledge and physiotherapy or occupational therapy skills in hand assessment and treatment
  • Experience in developing Orthopaedic services relating to physiotherapy

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable
