Occupational Health Advisor – Derby (Hybrid)

Salary : Up to £42,000 per annum

Hours : Part-time, 22.5 hours per week (Monday–Wednesday)

Location : Derby (2 days on-site, 1 day home-based, alternating with Coventry)

Amber Mace are partnering with a well‑established organisation recognised for its commitment to employee wellbeing in the search for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor (OHA) to join their professional team. This is a hybrid role offering a balance of on‑site and home‑based work, with a structured rota alternating between Derby and Coventry.

Role Overview

The Occupational Health Advisor will play a vital role in supporting employee health and wellbeing across multiple sites. The role combines case management, health surveillance, and wellbeing initiatives, providing professional guidance to both employees and managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and triage OH referrals, including health surveillance escalations.
  • Provide advice on attendance, fitness for work, and occupational health matters.
  • Assist with pre‑placement questionnaires and deliver travel health guidance where required.
  • Support proactive wellbeing initiatives, educating employees and managers.
  • Offer guidance on relevant legislation and best practice in occupational health.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement across the service.
Requirements
  • Qualified in Occupational Health.
  • Experience working in an Occupational Health setting.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.
