Overview

Lead Nurse

£33,637-£36,796 per annum

30 - 37.5 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Lead Nurse to join a dynamic, friendly and highly professional team caring for people with Neurological life limiting conditions.

The Lead Nurse role will play an integral part within our newly expanded Neurological centre.

Responsibilities
  • Be innovative in maintaining an environment that is conducive to the delivery and maintenance of a high standard of resident care.
  • Co-ordinate nursing care for residents with a focus on supervising and supporting staff and acting as a link between nursing staff and senior management.
  • Monitor the quality of care for residents and support the head of care to deliver the quality improvement plan.
  • Act as a role model to the nursing team within the designated clinical area for demonstrating and embedding the Sue Ryder Values and behavioural framework
  • Promoting professional and courteous culture and ensuring best practice.

  • Able to lead and motivate a team through a performance management structure
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills at all levels
  • Able to prioritise workload and manage competing priorities
  • Able to work independently and with others to ensure achievement of results
  • IT literate, able to demonstrate proficiency in basic system such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and web-based tools such as NHS and Local Authority Tools
  • Able to analyse data and write reports
  • A demonstrable ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries
  • Current full driving licence
