Job description

We are seeking a Nursery Room Leader to work in a nursery in Astwick. Please only apply if you have a minimum level 3 childcare qualification alongside experience as a practitioner or room leader.

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, prepare, and participate in activities that stimulate children's and babies' interests, taking into account the Equal Opportunities policy and issues of diversity.
  2. Develop and celebrate diversity within the local community through skills and knowledge of books and play materials.
  3. Work independently on your initiative, with support from the Manager and Directors.
  4. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and external agencies, both verbally and in writing.
  5. Supervise and delegate staff appropriately, adhering to legislation requirements.
  6. Maintain routines and respond flexibly to service demands.
  7. Support the smooth running of the nursery, including taking pride in the environment.
  8. Promote equal opportunities and prioritize safeguarding and the well-being of children at all times.
  9. Support and advise team members, ensuring good relations with staff, volunteers, students, and parents.
  10. Ensure a safe, emotionally, and psychologically secure environment for children and visitors.
